NEW from April 24, 2024 - Registration of .swiss domains for natural persons
Dear Customers
We are pleased to announce that the criteria for registering .swiss domains will be expanded to also offer natural persons this opportunity. This change will take effect from April 24, 2024. Natural persons residing in Switzerland and Swiss citizens now have the opportunity to submit an application to register a .swiss domain name with us.
To register a .swiss domain name, natural persons must ensure that it contains at least one of the following designations:
- one of the official names or other names registered in the civil register,
- one of the first names,
- a married name,
- a registered partnership name,
- a name received in a religious order,
- a stage name by which the person is known, or
- a name associated with a distinctive sign (e.g. a registered trademark) to which the applicant has the rights.
In addition, a freely chosen designation can be added to one of these mandatory designations.
It is important to note that names that correspond to or are similar to generic names (e.g. Barbieri, Marchand, Metzger) can only be assigned to a natural person if they are another name, such as a first name, a fictitious name or a reference to a hobby.
Swiss citizens residing abroad are not allowed to use a .swiss domain name for commercial activities abroad. Your domain name may only be used for private, association or non-profit purposes.
The Swiss social security number (OASI / AHV / AVS) in the form of Universal Personal Identification (UPI) and the address specified in the registration application must match the information provided by the domain name applicant.

Migrating hosting packages with PHP EOL
Dear customers,
we would like to inform you that PHP 8.0 will also reach "EOL" (End of Life) status by the end of the year. This means that older PHP versions will no longer receive updates and security patches:
https://www.php.net/supported-versions.php
All hosting packages that are still using an EOL version of PHP by the end of the year will be migrated to an older server. Your package will be converted into a "Past Package".
The price list for the past packages can be found at the following link: https://www.netzone.ch/en/pricelist_pastpackage
We strongly recommend that you upgrade to a supported PHP version to ensure the security and stability of your website and to save costs.
Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.
Best regards
NetZone AG
